The Oreum(small extinct volcanoe) surrounds the new town of Seogwipo City. It offers an open view Mara-do(island) to Jigwi-do(island), enabling you to capture the entire scenery of the southern coast and the city. Great place to see the night city view.
It is Asia's largest maar crater. It is considered to be live ecology museum holding biological records of tens and thousands of years. Spring water comes out the crater and makes it possible to grow rice, unlike elsewhere in Jeju. ‘Hanon’ means a huge rice field.
Geolmae Ecological Park at the top of Cheonjiyeon Falls opened to protect the waterfall and preserve the surrounding environment-friendly ecosystem. There are aquatic plant arboretum, wetland plant arboretum, Japanese apricot flower and wildflower arboretum, wild-bird pen, and wooden walk path. ‘Gulme’ means a ditch that gets stuffed too often to be filled at last. There always used to be water here and was a rice field in the past.
